Piql joins Norwegian Business and Industry Security Council
Piql has become a proud member of the Norwegian Business and Industry Security Council (NSR) to contribute to the Norwegian security community.
NSR is an entity that works towards encouraging security awareness and cooperation amidst businesses and public authorities present in Norway. NSR offers guidance, training, networking, and information regarding security matters like cybercrime, terrorism, espionage, and sabotage.
Piql has created a disruptive and holistic technology and solution for truly secure and non-hackable data storage for protection of business- and society critical data, information, and solutions. Piql’s ambition is to contribute to corporations and institutions operational resilience and to guarantee a secure and swift recoveryof the most critical data should a cyber incident occur.
Piql’s unique data storage technology is immutable, migration-free, permanent and is immune to cyberattacks, electromagnetic and radioactive radiation. Over several years the technology has been tested by well respect institutions as Norner(the polymer research institute), the Norwegian Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) and the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI).
Piql’s storage medium is kept offline and completely off-grid in a military-grade secure vault on a secret location in Norway, - completely disconnected from threats and intended to be made accessible in the worst-case scenarios and when the operational survival is at risk. The storage medium has been designed to be completely airgapped and immutable asa write-once-read-many (WORM)storage medium meaning that information cannot be hacked, tampered or changed once data is stored.
According to Piql's founder and managing director, Rune Bjerkestrand, the company was inspired by the digital revolution in the film industry, where they faced the challenge of discovering dependable systems for digital storage over long periods. Being a member of NSR, Piql hopes to contribute to a more resilient Norway with a data protection solution to guard against even unknown incidents, - to be counted on when everything else is down.
Piql operates production facilities in Drammen, Mexico, and Slovakia, and have provided services to clients like the Norwegian National Museum, the Norwegian Health Archive, the Norwegian Defence Museum, GitHub, European Space Agency, the Vatican Library, and many more across the world.
Piql was warmly welcomed as a new member by Odin Johannessen, the NSR director. Seeing Piql's unique approach to offline secure data storage, NSR were intrigued by the competence and knowledge Piql can offer the industry and chosen to highlight Piql as an exciting new member.
